assignment #16 The journey
The Journey
Early one morning i awaken in my cabin. As i wake up the first thing i look at is the digital clock i have sitting on my little wooden nightstand. I see how early it still is although its kind of bright outside. My cabin is little but perfect for just one person. I sleep on a futon as comfortable as can be, its a couch that opens up into a bed. A white and black zebra print blanket lays on my bed. A dresser that is the perfect size for me to fit my clothes. I have a mini T.V. on my dresser that i can fold up and take anywhere i go and on my nightstand i have a picture of me and my boyfriend♥. My bathroom has a shower and a tub with curtains of my favorite color pink with little roses on them. The cabinet above the toilet with the pink cover on it has all of my stuff hairspray, hairbrush, comb, etc. My bathroom always smells so good cause i always light the pink rose scented candle right by my sink. Every now and then ill change it. My little kitchen has a black refrigerator with freezer thats always filled with goodies. It has a stove and also a microwave right beside it. In the cabinet below the sink is where i keep my pots and pans. The cabinets above is where i keep my plates and cups. And a little pantry that i keep goodies in also.
As i take a step and walk outside the first thing i notice is two rainbows right beside each other one i can see way more then the other one. I start walking my way around the field and as i am walking Im kind of cold but at the same time i feel warm because of the sun. I could tell it just rained because of the smell. I love the smell of rain. As I’m walking across thru the wet, slippery grass I see lots of squirrels running up the tall trees that are about to lose their leaves.

assignment #14 Uniforms
My side of the argument would probably have to be that I don't agree with wearing uniforms at schools. The reason I think that is because there are people that follow dress code but at the same time, there are the gangs out there that cause problems. I think that all of the gangs are what is causing the debate on whether schools should make the kids wear uniforms or not. The gangs, groups, cliques, etc. like to wear colors that represent where there from. Also a lot of the school rules are affiliated with the gangs as well as the reason why we are not allowed to wear any color of bandanas in are hair or anywhere because of the cliques that again like to represent their color by using a bandana. Hats we aren’t aloud to wear them because that same reason but they have symbols that are normally used for baseball or sports teams but, now are used for all the cliques people come up with.
Back to the uniforms I think if schools where trying to stop kids from breaking the dress code then they should be more uptight about it and if one of the students are out of dress code then they should do something about it instead of complaining that kids are always out of dress code. I think that if all schools were to have uniforms there would be more kids out of uniform. More kids would not like the idea of it and would try to wear a different shirt but just with a jacket over it or something. I know how uniforms are because when I was in middle school nobody liked it. Everybody would try to wear clothes that were out of uniform and eventually get caught and get in trouble for such a little thing.
School is something important and every student should be able to learn and get the same amount of time to learn in class. If teachers were too busy paying attention to what every student is wearing trying to see if any students are out of dress code then students would get in trouble and we wouldn’t get any time to learn for the days we were in ISS or sitting at home for being suspended. When I was in middle school the ISS teacher would take each student to each teacher that they had. Each student would collect all their work that they need do make up and then we would have to sit there and do it in ISS. The thing that I didn’t get was why would the ISS teachers take us to go get work that we needed to do when some of the work that they gave us was hard to understand because we weren’t there in class to get it explained to or to learn what we were given.
That is why if it was my choice or if it was up to me I wouldn’t agree with uniforms at any school.

assignment #11
The Concrete Rose
Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature's law is wrong it learned to walk without having feet.
Funny it seems, but by keeping its dreams, it learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete when no one else ever cared.
To me I think that this poem is another way of saying that if nobody cares then you should still believe in yourself, believe in your hopes and dreams. Its within yourself to learn what you want to learn and succeed what you want to succeed.

assignment #10
I remember one time I was bullied. It was this year in my 11th grade at Atrisco Heritage Academy. It was in drama class. Well it started off as my friend getting picked on. They were talking crap about her saying that she walks funny and that she looks funny. My friend isn’t the type that sticks up for herself so I stuck up for her. I told them "you can’t say what you have to say or what?" and they replied talking crap saying I’m this and I’m that. So I walked out of class before I did anything stupid. As the days went on it still continued with them talking about me calling me names. I tried to ignore them as much as I can even though it just escalated and got worse. They started seeing that I wasn’t doing anything about it so they talked more and more about me. I eventually got tired of it and told them something. I was by myself at the time and they were all together it took place in my drama class in 7th period. After I told them something they all seemed very shocked and didn’t say anything they just all looked at me like I was stupid. When I told them to step up and do something they didn’t.
The bell finally rang. After school I walked to go meet my friend Maydeli as usual to meet her for the bus. I had told her what happened in class my last period and she was kind of having a bad day so it made her mad. I looked the other way and I seen them looking at us. We walked towards them and I had asked why she was still talking about it that if it was that hard to let go. Maydeli went off on her and then that’s when it all happened they started fighting, the girl that Maydeli was fighting, her friend wanted to fight me and I didn't even know her so she pushed me and i pushed her back. She then grabbed me by my hair, threw me to the ground and started throwing blows at me in the back of my head while I could not get up at all. The whole fight I just remembered that I was trying to get up the whole time. There was one point in the fight where they both were hitting me. All of a sudden I finally get away but than I went back for Maydeli because I didn’t want her to get in trouble for the whole fight when she was the one that had my back.
After the whole fight the security finally came three hours later. When the security got there and separated everybody. They grabbed me first to see if I was ok and then when I responded that I was fine they ended up putting me in handcuffs. I was still very furious about the whole fight, they took me first and then they had my friend Maydeli in cuffs next she was still trying to fight the other girl. The security took forever to put the other girls in handcuffs and that’s what made us more mad then we already were. They were paying more attention to us and putting us in cuffs rather than worrying about if they were in cuffs or not. They were taking us to the security office in our cuffs while it felt like almost the whole school was watching as we were walking there.
